Empower them through allowing a team member to shadow a senior project manager or encouraging that team member to take the lead on an upcoming project. While this may appear to be a small matter to you, it demonstrates your deep concern for your staff and customers. When your team knows they are appreciated and are not taken for granted, they are more likely to be fully invested and committed in your organization. In order for people to respect you, they need to know how much you care. 




Something that we’ve learned over the last year is to expect the unexpected. Both our personal and professional lives had to be altered in order to deal with the unexpected global pandemic. Companies quickly responded by refocusing their operations in light of the current circumstances. For example, when it was no longer safe to shop in-store, retail leaders developed measures to maintain the safety of their locations.


The successful leaders of today must be able to return to a previous course and shift their trajectory when faced with setbacks. Either you remove the obstacle or it will have a direct impact on your company's competitive advantage and bottom line. It's your organization's ticket to success and survival. Building resiliency within your team is crucial: it's your organization's means to future success and success.


The foundation of resilience is leadership — leaders must get their team to have resiliency. When the leader is able to bounce back, others will soon do the same. One way to build resiliency is to design a plan of action and a set of contingencies to address your long-term goals. Make plans to achieve your goals, but also be ready to deviate from them if the situation warrants it.
